The Naval Infantry School, formerly known as the Naval Public School, was established on August 2, 1965. It started in a large auditorium. The Naval Public School joined the Nathanian School which was operating in the present-day Grass District. It started as a primary school with around 600 children. The room was split into two parts where LKG and UKG students resided. The facilitator and the office staff assisted in running the school. Today, NCS is the flagship school in the Marine Nursery School chain sponsored by the Marine Education Association. It is administered by the Management Committee established under the Delhi School Education Act 1973.
The school is a mixed, child-centered school dedicated to developing each individual’s intellectual curiosity and personal growth through a robust curriculum based on a holistic approach. The school aims to promote a sense of competence, self-confidence, and emotional and physical well-being in every student. The primary goal of the school is to provide quality education geared toward national goals, as envisioned in the National Education Policy of 1986. Fitness 365 and sports
To promote fitness among students, the school has partnered with FITNESS 365, India’s first fitness assessment and education program, intervention, and monitoring for school children.
The program seeks to expand the concept of “fitness for all”. Its curriculum is structured and gradual in maturity to be able to serve students from Kindergarten through Twelfth Term with final results.
Sports activities: football, handball, hockey, basketball, cricket, tennis, physical and kinetic training, fitness and motor skills assessment
Importance: self-defense, improved judgment, reduced stress, strengthened relationship with peers, increased self-confidence and self-esteem, and experienced personal goals.
